EUROPE

Hometown :

I have moved around quite a bit over the years, but I currently live in a little town called Monmouth on the Welsh border. I’m from north Birmingham but I fell in love with Wales (& the outdoors) when I visited on a school residential at the age of 14.

Favorite rivers :

I love the river Eden in north England with the sandstone cliffs and sweet waves, the Dart Loop in the southwest, especially in Autumn and the dramatic rocky landscape that the Findhorn flows through in Scotland.

Favorite boats :

I have paddled a Venture Prospector for many years, but I am really looking forward to exploring the Esquif range. I am most excited about paddling the Echo 2.0, I think this will be a game changer for me, as I am used to paddling tandem boats solo. I am also really looking forward to sharing the river with as many friends as possible in the Pocket Canyon – it’s going to be a great laugh!

Most memorable moment on water :

This is a tough one - I have many, so here’s a few: Sharing the rapids on the Petawawa with my partner whilst experiencing ‘proper’ (Canadian) tandem white-water paddling for the first time. Paddling through the night on the Dornoch firth (Scotland) and being surrounded by seals at sunrise was pretty epic. This was part of a 10-day journey from the north coast of Scotland to the Cairngorms, which was stunning and gruelling in equal measures!
